Memphis wildlife can be a beautiful thing, but not when it is destroying your home!  When rodents, squirrels, raccoons and other animals enter a home, they can cause an amazing amount of damage.

     Roof rats will often chew their way through drip edge and enter a home through construction gaps. Squirrels can chew in through almost any part of a home, but their favorite targets are soffits and corners of the home.  Raccoons are very strong, and can easily create entry points large enough to gain access to a home or commercial property. The feces and urine from any of these animals will ruin the insulation in an attic, often leading to the need for an expensive attic restoration service (Removing and Replacing all Insulation).


     All of this interior and exterior damage can give any homeowner a huge, expensive headache. Most homeowners do not have the time, tools, or experience to deal with the removal and exclusion of wildlife.


     That’s where we come in!

     As an exclusion technician, your job will be to seal all entry points into a home as indicated on the exclusion estimate. This will sometimes include the sealing of construction gaps, soffits, gable vents, ground vents and more.  You will also be responsible for repairing fascia board, rotted wood, roof damage, brick mortar and other damage created by wildlife.


     While completing these repairs, you will be required to work on steep roofs. This will require balance, agility and focus.  On many jobs, you will be required to climb and work on tall ladders up to 40 feet tall.  You will also be required to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.

     This position requires 3 to 5 years of experience in carpentry or general construction.

      Our exclusion technicians are often called upon to be problem solvers when it comes to sealing homes. Communication is extremely important when we happen upon an unusual situation.  An experienced exclusion technician will make sure their work is completely animal proof before leaving the work site.  We take pride in our exclusion work, and we treat each of our client’s homes as though it were our own.


     An exclusion technician will often work in tight and enclosed spaces such as attics and crawl spaces. Although rare, there is always the possibility of encountering wildlife such as honey bees, wasps, raccoons, squirrels, rats, flying squirrels, opossums, skunks, and more.


     Although our exclusion technicians will not be required to remove wildlife, there is a chance that you will encounter certain wildlife on the job.  Wildlife will usually still be on the premises when we begin to seal a home.

       Performing exclusion work on a home requires using certain materials to create exclusion barriers. These materials include flashing, hardware cloth, concrete mix and more.  Experience using these materials is necessary.

  
     Our exclusion technicians will also be required to use hand tools such as drills, tape measures, metal cutters, flashlights and more.
